HSV Rotary honors POA employees
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Rotary Club of Hot Springs Village honored the recipients of the 2018 POA Employee Incentive Awards. The club awarded checks to each honoree in “recognition of their outstanding service to our community.” This year, the recipients exemplified teamwork as they worked together to provide outstanding service to the residents of Hot Springs Village.
The Recreation Maintenance team of Johnny Chambers, Chris Coulter, Christian Graves, Lance Graves, Todd Hain, Jimmy Dale Harper and Norman Meredith completed the deconstruction of the DeSoto Pool and bathhouse. The team demolished them, removed more than 350 loads of debris, and cleaned and shaped the pool site during the nine-week project. Completion of this project using in-house labor resulted in substantial savings for HSVPOA in preparation of reconstruction of a new pool.
The storms occurring in May 2017 caused severe damage to numerous roads and culverts in the Village. The Streets Department team of Alan Ault, Shannon Crawford, Aaron McPheron, Todd Noles, Jeffery Ray, Sammy Robertson and Charles Russell worked many extra hours to reconstruct roadways and clear many fallen trees from roadways to restore traffic. The reconstruction included a difficult repair on Barcelona Road where the roadway was collapsed as a result of storm water flow. In addition, culverts on Turbion Lane and Sabadel Lane were compromised by storm water eroding the fill material on the shoulders of the roadway.
Rotary membership is open to all men and women, with guests welcome at the Hot Springs Village club, which meets in the Fireside Dining Room at Good Sam’s, 121 Cortez Road, at 7 a.m. Thursdays.
