Razorbacks announce special dates in 2018 football schedule

FAYETTEVIL­LE — The University of Arkansas will host various special events surroundin­g the 2018 football schedule, including the debut of a renovated Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, Family Weekend and the traditiona­l homecoming weekend.

Arkansas will open the season against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the renovated and expanded Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, which is currently undergoing a $160 million renovation and north end zone addition. The renovation­s include new north stadium entrances and concourse areas made easier to access throughout the stadium.

The season opener will be Military Appreciati­on Day, where Razorback fans may sponsor a military member by providing them a ticket to a game. Military members can be sponsored for either of the team’s two designated Military Appreciati­on games.

Arkansas will host North Texas two weeks later on Sept. 15 for the University of Arkansas’ Family Weekend, which offers an opportunit­y for families to return to campus to visit their children attending the university.

The North Texas weekend will also feature the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor festivitie­s. Several former Arkansas student-athletes and coaches will be recognized for their success as Razorbacks. The inductees will be inducted at a banquet on the evening of Sept. 14 and will also be recognized during the game against North Texas.

Homecoming will be celebrated during the weekend of Oct. 20, against Tulsa. University of Arkansas graduates are encouraged to return to The Hill to join former classmates and all Razorbacks for a special weekend in Fayettevil­le. Homecoming week will be filled with numerous activities, including the annual homecoming parade and pep rally on Oct. 19.

Arkansas will wrap up the regular season home slate with Senior Day against LSU on Nov. 10. The Razorbacks will honor senior football student-athletes participat­ing in their final game at Razorback Stadium.
