Jessieville alumni ‘plant the seeds’ for students’ career interests
JESSIEVILLE — The Jessieville School District recently held Career Day for middle school students in sixth through eighth grades.
The theme for this year’s event was “Planting the Seeds,” and included guest speakers from local business and industry.
The speakers included Jessieville School District alumni who enlightened students on careers and offered advice in preparing for future college plans. Students had the opportunity to attend three of the career cluster areas, including Health Sciences, Criminal Justice, and Business Marketing and Management.
The school district, in a news release, thanked the guest speakers for planting a seed in the minds of middle school students by sharing their career experience and knowledge, which students will carry with them. Guest speakers included Dr. Michael Wainscott, Dentist; Zack Sykora, Hot Springs Village firefighter; Jeremy Whiley, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission warden; Richard Beason, National Park College; Mark Taylor, graphic artist and business owner; Angie Morrow, physical therapist and owner of Tomorrow’s Therapy & Fitness; Trooper Corey Ray of the Arkansas State Police; and Alisa Oates, interior designer and owner of Restructure Kitchen, Bath & Design.
