Reddies place fifth at Central Region Golf Preview

SPRINGFIEL­D, Mo. — After improving on its opening round with a 303, Henderson State finished with a 36-hole total of 621 to finish fifth in the Central Region Spring Preview in Springfiel­d, Mo.

Taylor Loeb was one of the top two Reddies with a 154, posing a 75 on Tuesday to finish 13th. The sophomore from Little Rock had four birdies and 21 pars for the tournament.

Sarah Wright, a senior from Fayettevil­le, also finished 13th with rounds of 78 and 76, recording a pair of eagles and was 2-under-par in par-5 scoring.

Hanna Brauburger moved up nine spots and tied for 20th after a round of 76 to finish with a 157 total. Brauburger collected 20 pars and had three birdies during the two day event.

Luisa Gartmann made the biggest move after a second round score of 76 on the par 72, 5,911-yard Rivercut Golf Course. Gartmann jumped 24 spots and tied for 28th with a total score of 160 for the tournament.

Taylor Reed ended the tournament tied for 43rd with a two-day total of 166 including a round of 86 Tuesday.

Allison Davis played as an individual and turned in the best performanc­e for the Reddies finishing tied for sixth. Davis carded rounds of 76 and 75 to finish with a 151 total, five shots behind the leaders.

Christian Barrett also played as an individual and tied for 57th out of 93 players with scores of 86 and 83 for a 169 total.

Arkansas Tech won the tournament with a team total of 601, followed by Southweste­rn Oklahoma at 615 and Northeaste­rn State posting a score of 616. Central Oklahoma was fourth, one shot ahead of Henderson with a 620 followed by the Reddies.

Missouri Western State (631) placed sixth, followed by Nebraska - Kearney (642) seventh, Central Missouri eighth (647), and Southern Nazarene ninth (654).

Oklahoma Baptist placed 10th (656), Southern Arkansas 11th

(665), Fort Hays State 12th (666), Harding 13th (677), with Northwest Missouri and Southwest Minnesota St. finishing tied for 14th

(701).

Rounding out the field were Concordia St. Paul (703), Upper Iowa (722) and Southwest Baptist (764).

HSU will have a break until the Great American Conference Championsh­ips April 22–24 at Hot Springs Country Club.
