-

David M. “Hooter” Golenor, age 68, went to begin his life with the Lord on April 13, 2018.

He was born July 29, 1949, in Little Rock. He endured a lot health problems in the last few years and told the family that he was ready to go where his grandfather was and go fishing. His best memories of his childhood were running around with his Grandad, Golenor, and his uncles, Johny, Curtis and Don. I understand that they took him along on many of their hunting and fishing excursions and he had a ball.

His motto in life was “If it ain’t fun, don’t do it.” He was a past Mason from Omega Lodge #547 Dumas, Ark., a past member of Sahara Shrine Center and ROJ Court 138, Pine Bluff, Ark., and was a member of Scimitar Shrine Center and Royal Order of Jesters Court 12.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jo Golenor; grandparents, Ernest and Lucille Golenor and James and Velma Shores.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patsy Archer Golenor; daughters, Jennifer (Kenny) Martin of DeQueen and Michelle (John) Koonce of Gulf Shores, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Alex, Jalyn, Anna Koonce, Kayla, Kade, Maddie and Jake Martin; two wiener dogs, Annie and Meg; two sisters, Kathy (Joey) Shelton of Benton and Mary Jayne (David) Green of Roland; one niece, Rebecca Green of Little Rock; one nephew, Chase Shelton of Benton; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
