LH sweeps Coca-Cola Relays

NASHVILLE — Lake Hamilton dominated the field at Nashville’s Coca-Cola Relays Tuesday afternoon, winning both the boys and girls competitio­ns.

The Lady Wolves picked up 137 points after 18 events with Texarkana (122) taking second and Broken Bow finishing third with 83 points. The Wolves tallied 108.5 points at the meet with Ashdown finishing second with 94 and Prescott third with 79.

Lake Hamilton’s junior varsity finished 10th in the boys standings with 28 points and eighth in the girls standings with 29 points. The Hot Springs Lady Trojans finished

11th with 10 points. William Burgess claimed 10 points for the Wolves with a firstplace finish in the shot put. Lake Hamilton’s Ray Hamp finished eighth in the event, earning one point.

Other winners for Lake Hamilton included Haze Farmer in the pole vault, Skylar Davis in the boys

1,600-meter run, Cody Weldon in the 800-meter run, Omar Ramos in the 3,200-meter run and the team of Davis, Weldon, Abraham Liera and Ethan Wacaster in the

4x800-meter relay.

Edie Murray gave the Lady Wolves 20 points by winning the long jump and pole vault events. Other first-place finishers for the Lady Wolves were the team of Anacaron Ramos, Meighan Mears, Madison Mears and Katherine Scalzo in the 4x800-meter relay as well as Morgan Pruitt in the

1,600-meter run. University of Arkansas signee Josie Carson claimed first for the Lady Wolves in the 800-meter and 3,200-meter runs. Teiara Gordon scored all 10 points for the Hot Springs Lady Trojans by winning the girls high jump.
