Warrant arrest leads to felony drug charges
A previously arrested local man sought on a warrant for failure to appear in court faces new felony charges after drugs and a pistol were allegedly found in his possession Sunday afternoon.
Roman Markham Dulaney, 32, of 520 Fleetwood Drive, was taken into custody at his residence shortly before 3:30 p.m. and charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, punishable by up to life in prison, and possession of drug paraphernalia, punishable by up to six years.
He was being held on zero bond and set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Garland County sheriff’s dispatcher received a call from a local bail bond company asking for assistance in arresting Dulaney on the failure to appear warrant.
Deputy Scott Hinojosa arrived at Dulaney’s residence where the bondsman already had Dulaney detained and during a pat-down search allegedly found a loaded .40-caliber pistol in a holster on his right side, a baggie in his pocket containing 0.9 gram of what later tested positive for meth and a pipe commonly used for smoking meth.
Dulaney was previously arrested July 3, 2017, on three counts of possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver involving Psilocybin or mushrooms, Alprazolam and Clonzapam, both sedatives, possession of meth with purpose to deliver, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, all felonies, and possession of marijuana with purpose to deliver.
He was later released on $24,500 bond but his bond was revoked and a warrant issued for his arrest after he reportedly failed to appear for a court hearing on April 10, 2018. A hearing on his bond in that case is set for July 3.
