Two women and a man from Malvern were arrested Sunday afternoon on felony drug charges after a traffic stop in Hot Springs by Arkansas State Police.

Crystal Dawn Moorehead, 42, Jessica Brook Rose alias Jessica Cagle, 32, and Lonnie Paul Monroe, 57, who all list the same address in Malvern, were taken into custody shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Malvern Avenue and Starr Drive and each charged with felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, meth, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of having an open container of alcohol.

Rose and Moorehead were also each charged with a misdemeanor count of pos- session of a controlled substance, marijuana, punishable by up to one year in jail. Rose was also charged with possession of a controlled substance involving various pills found and Moorehead was cited for numerous traffic violations.

All three remained in custody, with Rose being held on $9,500 bond, Moorehead on $6,000 bond and Monroe on $5,000. They were all set to appear Monday in Garland County District Court.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Arkansas State Police Trooper Ryan Wingo made a traffic stop on a speeding black Ford Mustang with fictitious tags traveling eastbound on Malvern Avenue after a computer check revealed the tags returned to a red Mustang.

As the driver, identified as Moorehead, searched for her license and registration, Wingo reportedly noticed a beer can in the center cup holder of the vehicle. Moorehead told him she had just purchased the vehicle and reportedly presented him with a handwritten bill of sale with her name on it.

Wingo collected ID cards from the other occupants in the vehicle, identified as Rose and Monroe, and reportedly learned both Moorehead and Monroe were on parole with search waivers on file and Rose had warrants out of Hot Springs and Malvern.

Wingo and Cpl. Jorge Oseguera conducted a search on the vehicle and allegedly located three beer cans with some liquid still inside, five unopened beer cans in the floorboard, a half-empty bottle of gin in the back seat, a half-empty bottle of rum wedged between the driver’s seat and center console and a soda bottle with a strong odor of alcohol.

In the back seat, they reportedly located about 1.7 grams of suspected meth, about 3 grams of suspected marijuana, a glass pipe and six pills. A second glass pipe was allegedly found hidden behind the car radio.

All three were arrested and taken to the Garland County Detention Center where a “blunt” of marijuana was allegedly found in Moorehead’s wallet.

During a post Miranda interview, Rose allegedly admitted the meth, pills and one of the glass pipes belonged to her. Moorehead and Monroe allegedly denied ownership of the second pipe found.
