‘Off the Beaten Path’ exhibit on display through June

“Off The Beaten Path,” the 2018 Hot Springs Regional Art Exhibition curated art show is on display now through June 14 at the Garland County Library and Hot Springs Cultural Affairs Office.

The paintings and art photograph­s are inspired by Arkansas’ natural beauty exploring the parks, campsites, historic sites and rural areas of Arkansas. Twelve paintings can be viewed at the library, 1427 Malvern Ave., and 14 artworks at the Cultural Affairs Office, 108 Pleasant St.

An artist reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. today beginning at the library, then will move to the Cultural Affairs Office at 6:15 p.m.

Exhibit artists are: Phyllis Anderson, Shirley Anderson, Thia Beene, Jan Briggs, Daniel Mark Cassity, Patricia Corder, Disceaux Dicki, Hugh Dunnahoe, John Faginkrant­z, Carol Flori, Dolores Justus, Robin Miller-Bookhout, Linda Williams Palmer, Kevin Riley, Roxy Rose, Cynthia Schanink, Gary Simmons, Mary Ann Stafford, Shirley Tipton, Patricia Trulock, Cathy Wester and Sandy Whitson.

The exhibit is a part of Arkansas Heritage Month and the Arts & the Park festival and showcases the many places off the beaten path that can be explored. The variety of artistic styles and mediums reveal the various moods of Arkansas’ beautiful landscapes.

The Hot Springs Cultural Affairs Office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 501-321-2835 before visiting.

The exhibit is sponsored by Emergent Arts, Garland County Library, HSACA, Arkansas Department of Heritage and Arkansas Arts Council.
