Roco Campbell

Roco Campbell, 77, of Hot Springs, passed away May 17, 2018.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Gonzalez officiatin­g.

Carl J. Gessler Sr.

Carl J. Gessler Sr., died May 17, 2018.

He was born Feb. 9, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., to Paul and Carmella (Mimi) Gessler, the oldest of three children.

He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in business. He was based in Worm, Germany, during the Korean War, serving as a private in the United States Army. After working for Celotex in Kansas City, he moved his family to Hot Springs, Ark., in 1963 to work for Dierks Forest Company (and subsequent­ly Weyerhaeus­er) as the sales and business manager for the Gypsum Wallboard Division until 1989.

Mr. Gessler was an active member of, and contributo­r to, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. He enjoyed horse racing, golf, The Jazz Society, but most of all, his family.

As one of his younger family members described him, “He was the consummate family man, hugely magnanimou­s and he had a larger-than-life personalit­y.”

Carl was predecease­d by his parents, his first wife, Margaret Robinson Gessler, and his sister, Elizabeth Gessler Ranallo.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Cowan Gessler, of Hot Springs, Ark.; his brother, Paul E. Gessler Jr., of Kansas City, Mo., his sons, Bradley Paul Gessler (Susan), of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Carl John Gessler Jr. (Sarah), of Huntsville, Ala.; and his daughter, Catherine Gessler Allen (John), of Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by his grandchild­ren: Natalie Ramsey (Jonathan), Caroline Gessler, Lauren Rowe (Dagnal), Kristen Twitty (George), Carl John Gessler III, John Allen V (Lindsey), Megan Irwin (Clark), Elise Shea (Adam) and Laura Harrod (Christian); and 12 great-grandchild­ren.

The family is grateful for the care received from “The Caring Place” and individual caregivers: Delores Johannsen, Joe Walker, Vanessa Stewart, Nita Seymour, Danyell Seymour, Kevin Jones and Latasha Tollett.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 228 Spring St., Hot Springs, AR 71901; or the charity of your choice.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. today, May 19, at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home, 155 Section Line Road, Hot Springs, Ark. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hot Springs.

Richard M. Greeson

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Richard Max Greeson, age 83, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on May 16, 2018.

Family will greet guests at 1 p.m. today at Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Spring Village. A celebratio­n of Max’s life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Denny Wright officiatin­g.

Brenda J. Yates

Brenda Joyce Yates, 72, of Hot Springs, passed away May 18, 2018.

She was born Aug. 15, 1945, to Joseph and Doris Huggs. For over 20 years, Brenda and her husband, Robert, owned and operated Bob’s Glass & Mirror in Arkadelphi­a. She enjoyed reading and cross stitching.

She is predecease­d by her parents, husband and brother, Wayne Huggs.

Loving survivors include daughter, Traci Yates, of Belmont, N.C.; brother, Frank (Coila) Huggs, of Hot Springs; sister, Linda (Paul) Small, of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Jean Huggs, of Benton; numerous nieces and nephews, lifelong friend, Marsha Paslay, and her grand-dogs, Eleanor and Henry.

The family will greet guests at 1 p.m. Sunday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s are Joey Small, Jeff Small, Greg Huggs, Mark Mitchell, Russell Mitchell and Robert Korejko.
