Blood drives

Certain blood types needed due to shortage

Arkansas Blood Institute will conduct blood drives at the following times and locations this week:

• Tuesday — Bloodmobil­e at Keith Smith Co., 130 K-Tech Lane, 8-10:30 a.m.; Timber Automation (Baxley Equipment), 400 Aviation Plaza, 12:30-3 p.m.; and Arkadelphi­a Sheriff Station, 406 S. Fifth St., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Wednesday — Bloodmobil­e at Garland County Court House

8:30-11 a.m.; and Levi Hospital,

300 Prospect Ave., 1-3:30 p.m.

• Thursday — noon to 4 p.m., First Methodist Church Arkadelphi­a, 107 N. Ninth St.

• Saturday — 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Garland County Library auditorium, 1427 Malvern Ave.; noon to

4 p.m., Bloodmobil­e at Malvern, dedicated to Miracle Diaz at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, JJ’s Truck Stop & Restaurant, 6106 Military Road.

ABI has announced there is a critical need for Type A-negative, Type O-negative and Type B blood due to an unusually high usage. These blood types

can be cross-matched to more blood types.

Donors must be at least 16 years old, feel healthy and have a photo ID. All donors receive a free admission to Wild River Country, an Adventure T-shirt, health screening, learn their blood type with a blood card, and receive refreshmen­ts. Visit http://www.arkbi.org or call
