Gloria D. Poole

Gloria Diane Poole, age 86, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

She was born in Hot Springs on Dec. 19,1931, the daughter of Jim Montgomery and Mattie Lewellen Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 30 years, Loyd Poole; sister, Willie Mae Troxel; sister, Opal Weldon; brother, Jack Montgomery, and twin brother, David Montgomery.

Gloria was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith. While her children were young, she devoted her work to raising them. After they were grown, she continued to care and nurture people as a nurse’s aide and in private nursing care. She lived for her family, especially her grandchildren in later years. She loved watching her sons and grandsons ride motorcycles. Gloria loved life, lived well and never missed an opportunity to dance.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Poole and wife Robyn, of West Point, Ind., Eddy Poole and wife Rebecca, of Bonnerdale, and Joey Poole and wife Marcie, of Bonnerdale; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Jeremy Poole and wife Lacie, Justin Poole and wife Courtney, and Zach Poole and wife Megan; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden Poole, Sadie Poole, Luke Poole and Rylan Reid; as well as many much-loved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
