Local man charged with endangering welfare of minors, domestic battery
A local man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly pulling hair off his daughter’s head while she was driving with her children, almost causing her to wreck.
Gregory Galloway, 58, who lists a Galloway Lane address, was taken into custody around
9 p.m. and charged with two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of third-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to one year in jail.
Galloway was being held on zero bond and was scheduled to appear Wednesday in Garland County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Kellar and Deputy Clayton Green responded to the 2900 block of Airport Road in reference to a disturbance.
Kellar made contact with a woman, 33, who stated she was attacked by her father, identified as Galloway, who had left walking west on Airport Road. She provided a description of him and Green located him at Sonic Drive-in, 1528 Airport Road.
Galloway stated his daughter attacked him while driving down the road. Green took Galloway into custody and they returned to the scene in the 3000 block of Airport Road.
Galloway’s daughter told deputies he got mad at her and grabbed her by the hair while they were traveling down Airport
Road in a 55 mph zone. Deputies observed hair missing from her head and her two children, a 13-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, in the back seat of the vehicle.
The daughter said when Galloway grabbed her hair it caused her to abruptly change lanes and she had to quickly use her brakes to avoid an accident. The 13-year-old gave a statement to deputies about the incident and Galloway reportedly admitted to pulling his daughter’s hair.
