Everett Henry Long, age 83, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 21, 2018.

He was born in Nella, Ark., on May 15, 1935, the son of Tommy Leroy Long and Telitha Shipman Long. On June 5, 1954, he married Jeanell Williams Long. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dewey, Roy and Delbert; and one sister, Lucille.

Everett was a Christian in faith and worshipped at The Glory Barn Church. He worked for over 45 years for Weyerhaeus­er. He was a loving, kind man who would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanell Long, of Hot Springs; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Helen Long, of Story; daughter, Angela Lindsey, of Hot Springs; five grandchild­ren, Heath Long (Traci), of Haskell, Alison Pavatt (Brandon), of Hot Springs, Erin Lindsey, of Hot Springs, Tyler Lindsey, of Little Rock, and Jennifer Rateliff (Alex), of Hot Springs; five great-grandchild­ren, Elijah Pavatt, Reid Long, Carter Pavatt, Reagan Long and Owen Rateliff; two brothers, Olen and Nolen Long, both of Hot Springs; three sisters, Doris McConnell, Dorothy Gilbreth and Helen Buffington, all of Hot Springs; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs, with Pastor Jess Gideon officiatin­g

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. today.

Interment will be in Oma Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Elijah Pavatt, Brandon Pavatt, Tyler Lindsey, Heath Long, Donald Diggs, Carter Pavatt and Rodney Hurst.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU nurses Hannah, Tara and Janet at CHI St. Vincent for their compassion­ate care.
