Over 50 years experience in customized fitness plans
Personalized Fitness was created in April 1998 in Indiandale Shopping Center by owner Joe Huskey, who quickly developed a full-time clientele. In 1999, his wife, Amy, left her job as a radiographer at National Park Medical Center and joined Joe in the business.
Together, the couple provides over 50 years of experience. Joe has owned and operated health clubs and worked as a personal trainer since the early 1980s. At the time of the business’ inception, he was the state representative for the National Federation of Personal Trainers. Amy also became certified in the NFPT.
Joe and Amy recently added their daughter, Darrian Huskey, to the business. Darrian graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a B.A. in exercise science and a minor in nutrition. She became an NFPT Certified Trainer in July 2016 and just recently completed an internship at Conway Regional Rehabilitation Center.
In 2003, Joe and Amy both became board certified medical exercise specialists, which allows them the knowledge to make their clients pain-free and help them get back into the active lifestyle they once enjoyed.
Personalized Fitness is a Complete Med X Core Spinal Fitness facility and offers a variety of services including post rehab medical exercise, personal training, sports conditioning, nutritional counseling, the Med X Core Spinal Fitness System, Stott Pilates Reformer sessions and Krav Maga Self Defense. Joe became a black belt Krav Maga instructor in 2012, and Amy passed her Level 1 Krav Maga Instructor test on May 12 of this year.
In 2016, the couple opened a second location in Hot Springs Village, 24/7 Gym. Their daughter, Whitley Huskey, manages that facility.
“Our years of experience and attention to detail and safety make us unique. Many of our clients who started with us 20 years ago are still with us. We are still growing. We truly love what we do!,” the couple said.
