Virginia Finley

Virginia Finley left this life on May 29, 2018, to join her beloved soulmate, George, in Heaven. There she will have no more tears, but only smiles and laughter as they continue their marriage of over 65 years and rejoice in being together again.

Mom and Dad were rarely apart and spent their life caring for family, building houses, spending over 20 years in retirement living on Lake Hamilton, and being wonderful examples of parents, grand and great-grandparents to our large family.

They leave us to cherish their memory and preserve a lifetime of more adventures and stories than could be told in a volume of books. From the farm, to moves to new start-up mills, to the lake, they continued to strive to provide a great life to us. To teach us right from wrong, that faith in God will hold and keep you in good and bad times, and to respect and be kind to all.

The family wishes to thank those who helped us care for mom in the year she spent waiting to be with dad. Those angels include the caregivers from Right at Home and kind neighbors Bill and Leo. A special thank you to Amanda and Jake, who loved her as if she were their mom. And in her last days, the staff and doctors at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs who provided her with excellent and compassionate care.

There will be a celebration of mom and dad’s life together in Camden, Ark., at Proctor Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on July 13. A second memorial will be held in Hot Springs, Ark., at 11 a.m. on Aug. 4 at the Piney Grove Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Finley and his wife, Nancy, of Hope, Ark., Dennis Finley and his wife, Louanne, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Angela Rose, of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Tom, Brandy, Chris, Kyle, Tyler, Aiden and Kiernan; and eight great-grandchildren.
