HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Joanna S. Williams, of Hot Springs Village, passed away June 9, 2018, at the age of 83. Joanna was born Feb. 8, 1935, in Clarksvill­e, Ark. She married while in college, divorcing 20 years later and setting out to raise five children.

Joanna was trained as a draftsman and engineer’s technician and began working for Cooper Communitie­s at Hot Springs Village in 1971. In 1973, she moved to the POA and retired as director of Parks and Recreation in 2000.

Joanna had a passion for storytelli­ng and was sometimes referred to unofficial­ly as the Village historian. Not only was she a collector of vintage hats, she also wore many hats in her long, fruitful life. She will be remembered for her grace as much as her grit and determinat­ion.

Joanna was preceded in death by three sons, Fred, Ted and Bill Williams.

She is survived by two daughters, Ginger and Karen Williams; two grandchild­ren; and three great-grandchild­ren.

The family offers a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and Yolanda Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the HSV Animal Welfare League.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Hot Springs Village.
