Mary F. Clegg

PRATTSVILL­E — Mary Frances “Butch” Clegg, 73, of Prattsvill­e, Ark., passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018.

A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, June 22, 2018, at Brandon’s Mortuary in Malvern.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Davis Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Internment will follow at Philadelph­ia Cemetery.

William T. Davis

William T. Davis (a.k.a. Bill) peacefully slipped away Monday, June 18, 2018, at the age of

82, with his children by his side. He was a son, husband, brother, father, pawpaw, uncle, cousin, and a friend to many. He was born in Rison, Ark., to Dutch and Teadie Davis.

Bill graduated from Rison High School and briefly attended UAPB before moving to Flint, Mich., where he was employed at Buick Division of General Motors. He spent four years as a Communicat­ion Specialist in the USAF during the Korean Conflict.

In 1962, he felt led by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel and graduated from United Theologica­l Seminary extension in Monroe, La. He organized and pastored Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Mich., until 1982 when he met and married Mary. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Hot Springs, Ark.

After retiring from General Motors he pastored Union Missionary Baptist Church in Gould, Ark., for several years. During Bill’s lifetime he was the Associated Minister for Roanoke Baptist Church, President of the Hot Springs branch of the NAACP, honor guard of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and active participan­t on the Election Commission and Planning Commission in Garland County.

He completed training in CASA and Emergency Management of the Department of Homeland Security. He was initiated into Rose of Sharon Lodge

#4 Ancient Craft Masonry and remained a member in good standing with the King David Grand Lodge of the Grand Masonic Congress of the U.S. and Canada.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dutch and Teadie Davis; brother, Dutch G. Davis; sister, Arnetta Mitchum; and daughter, Satyra LaFawn Carpenter. He will forever be remembered by his wife Mary, his children, grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Lake Valley Community Church, 920 Shady Grove Road in Hot Springs.

A visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. today, June 22, 2018, at the church.

LaNell Marcum, age 88, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

She was born on June 1, 1930, in Hope, the daughter of William Sydney McDowell and Cordie B. Sinclair McDowell. She was married to Vance Marcum for 60 years, who preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by both parents, five sisters, two brothers, and grandson, Van Ryan Marcum.

LaNell was a Baptist in faith. Anyone who knew her would agree that she was a passionate person. There were no grey areas for her. She loved her family, she shared the McDowell passion for fishing, she always enjoyed flowers, gardening, yardwork. She loved garage “sale-ing” and she was an avid, competitiv­e, able card player to the very end.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Ed Southerlan­d, of Hot Springs Village; son, Gary Marcum, of Clermont, Fla.; grandson, Todd Southerlan­d and his wife, Caroline, of Atlanta, Ga; granddaugh­ter, Kerry McDowell Southerlan­d and her husband, Matt Meredith of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandchild­ren, Allie and Andrew Southerlan­d, of Atlanta, Ga; sister, Emilene McDowell Yocom, of Golden, Colo.; as well as extended family and anyone with the fortune to call her friend. She is also survived by a very special friend, Charlie Green, who shared his unfailing love, companions­hip, and support through her final years.

There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, in the Evening Shade Cemetery at Hope, Ark.

In lieu of flowers and other customary condolence­s, memorials can be made to Evening Shade Cemetery in the care of Marjorie Butler at 4512 Hwy 29 S, Hope, AR 71801.

DONALDSON – Lucille Pilcher Mills, 94, of Donaldson, passed to her heavenly home Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, June 22, Regency Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Antioch Assembly of God Church.

Burial will be in Upper Antioch Cemetery.
