Blood drives scheduled today, during next week

Arkansas Blood Institute will conduct blood drives at the following times and locations this week:

• Today — 8:30 a.m. to

12:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall of Piney Grove United Methodist Church, 2963 Airport Road.

• Tuesday — 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fellowship Hall of Village United Methodist Church/Knights of Columbus, 200 Carmona Drive, Hot Springs Village; 12:305:30 p.m., Hot Springs Boots & Badges, Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, 2350 Central Ave.

• Friday — 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mount Ida Boots & Badges, Civic Center Council Room,

145 Whittingto­n St.

• Saturday — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bloodmobil­e at Sam’s Club.

Donors receive free admission to Magic Springs, an Adventure T-shirt, a free health screening, Donor Rewards, a blood-type card and refreshmen­ts. Donors must be at least 16 years old, feel healthy and have a photo ID (16- and

17-year-olds can be ID’d by a parent or guardian), and can make an appointmen­t by visiting http://www.arkbi.org and choosing Find A Drive, or by calling Bob Woodall at 501282-6072. The donor center at

149 Section Line Road is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Call 501-624-0666 to make an appointmen­t to give platelets, double red blood or whole blood. Donors may credit a patient at any hospital with their blood donation. All donations support patients at

44 Arkansas hospitals including Hot Springs’ two acutecare general hospitals.
