-

Patricia Looney Cornelius,

72, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away July 9, 2018.

She was born in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Willie and Clela Looney on April 27, 1946.

Always amazing, Pat enjoyed many careers, including interior design, real estate, auto sales, painter, gardener, thoroughbred racehorse owner and boutique owner.

Pat’s vibrancy and energy continue to be a beacon to her family. She is survived by Tom Cornelius, of Hot Springs, whom she married on Jan. 23,

1965. To him, she was “Pattie” and always “pretty as a picture.” They had more than 53 years of love, family and adventure. Together they enjoyed traveling and hiking with their Ouachita Mountain Hiker friends.

However, their biggest adventure was their family, which includes her daughters, Shann Cornelius (Joe) Lawson, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Leslee Cornelius (Andy) Ray, of Collierville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Tommy (Cody) Ray, Michael (Kendra) Kennedy, Drew (Ashley) Ray, Samantha Kennedy and Jacob Kennedy; great-grandchild, Layne Ray; her sisters, Carol Thompson, of Somerville, S.C., Kay (Jim) Winchester, of Rossville, Tenn., and Carla (Tim) Armour, of Charlotte, N.C.; and her brother, Bill (Belynda) Looney, of Lexington, Tenn.

She loved reading, painting and shopping excursions, but her heart was fullest when she had the lake house full of grandchildren. Being “Grandee” was the sweetest adventure of all.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at Collierville Funeral Home in Collierville, Tenn., on Saturday, July

14, 2018. The family will receive visitors beginning at noon and the memorial service will begin at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The online obituary, guestbook and memorial tribute are available at http://www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
