Equipment tested for museum election

The Garland County Election Commission will test voting equipment for the Sept. 11 Mid-America Science Museum improvemen­t bonds special election at 9 a.m. Aug. 22 at the election commission building, 649A Ouachita Ave.

The public is welcome to attend. The ballot draw for the Nov. 6 general election and nonpartisa­n runoff will be held at noon Aug. 24 at the election commission building.

Resource Fair Block Party to close part of Pleasant

Pleasant Street, between Church and Gulpha streets, will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday for the Hot Springs Community Resource Fair Block Party.

Signs will be posted, and motorists will need to seek an alternate route during street closure.
