LH, Bismarck split at DeGray

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

BISMARCK — Lake Hamilton won a boys golf match with Bismarck on Monday, while the Lions took the girls’ match at DeGray Lake Resort Golf Course.

Prescott did not have enough players for team scores, but the Curley Wolves competed for the top spots in each match.

“The course played very tough since it had taken on so much water earlier in the day,” said Lake Hamilton golf coach Brandi Higginbotham. “The kids from all three schools really did a nice job playing on a course that didn’t give them much extra yardage past their landing point.”

The Wolves won the boys’ match with a score of 142, led once again by the team’s senior leaders.

“Caleb Dodd finished as medalist again with Jordan (Johnson) following close behind,” Higginbotham said.

Dodd carded a 44. Bismarck’s Jacob Loy finished a close second at 45. Johnson and Prescott’s Tyler Doucet tied for third place at 48.

Freshmen Peyton Garner and Cade Robinson finished with scores of 50 and 52, respectively.

The Lions finished with a score of 171. Bismarck’s contingent include Blake Smith, Beau Wesson and Logan Bubulka.

Bismarck notched the three top individual scores in the girls’ match, finishing with a team score of 147. Lake Hamilton finished at 194.

Gloria Berry medaled with a score of 48. Makenna Norris shot a 49 and Erin Fendley shot a 50.

Prescott’s Kameon Collier finished fourth with a score of 59. Lake Hamilton was represented on Monday by freshmen Ginny Higginbotham and Annabelle Coppedge and sophomore Kenley Spruill.”

“Annabelle played a really nice round at DeGray with Kenley shooting her best score so far also,” Higginbotham said.

Lake Hamilton is scheduled to host players from Centerpoint, Nashville and Prescott on Monday at the Glenwood Country Club.
