Harold Thomas “Tom” Cash, age 74, went to be with his Lord on Aug. 11, 2018.

He is survived by his wife, Marcellyn Dickerson Cash; two sons, Tommy Cash, of Hot Springs, and Stephen Homan, of Lebanon, Ore.; daughter, Paula Carpenter (Mike), of Safford, Ariz.; two “daughters by choice,” Shannon Healey (Kurtis) and Dorothy Homan Smith (Glen); brother, James Cash (Barbara), of Nashville, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren, three great-grandchild­ren and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion E. and Olus Smedley Cash; and two sisters, Joyce Lee Cash Smith and Aleta Gay Cash Gossage.

He was born on Dec. 6, 1943, in Bell Garden, Calif., to Marion and Olus Cash. After serving in the Army as a combat medic in Vietnam, he received a BSE from Henderson State University. Many know him from his nearly two decades at the Garland County Library, but most know him as a faithful member of Glazier Peau Missionary Baptist Church, where he taught the Men’s Sunday School class for more than 30 years.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Caruth Village Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Friday at Caruth Village with Brothers Derwin Harris and Mike Carpenter officiatin­g, interment at Glazier Peau Cemetery immediatel­y following.

Pallbearer­s include James Carpenter, Steve Cash, Josh Cash, Dickie Gossage, Ben Dunn and David Moore.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Glazier Peau Missionary Baptist Church, Ellis Dickerson, Dwight and Linda Cox, the Dierksen Hospice and VA Hospice care teams, and so many others who shared their time and talents in recent months.
