Recycling facts:

• Aluminum can be recycled over and over again. There is no limit how many times you can recycle it.

• The most recycled item is the aluminum can. They can be recycled and reused in just about two months.

• A half million trees will have to be cut down to produce Sunday’s newspaper every week.

• Recycling of 1,000 pounds of newspaper can help save eight trees, 200 gallons of oil and many other useful resources.

• Recycling lowers the level of air pollution.

• A glass bottle takes about 4,000 years to decompose.

• If we recycle one ton of plastic, it can save around 1,200 gallons of gasoline.

• Americans will use over 2 1/2 million bottles every 30 minutes, and most of them are thrown away, rather than recycled.

• On average, people produce 4.4 pounds of trash per day, that results in about 1.5 tons of solid waste per year.
