Marilyn J. T. Reimers

-

Marilyn Jane Taghon Reimers passed peacefully from this world on Aug. 23, 2018. She was 84. Marilyn died among her family at her home in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born on Sept. 12, 1933, in Peoria, Ill., to Charles and Gladys (Leddy) Taghon.

She is predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Earl Raines; brother, Denny Raines; a niece she raised as her own, Julie Reimers; and her husband of 60 years, Dale Reimers.

Marilyn is survived by the children that she raised, Lori Reimers Durr, Chris, Troy, Craig and Mark Reimers and their families; as well as her dearly loved sister, Shirley Cone. Marilyn was a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod for most of her life. She served her Lord as either a choir member, director or music teacher for over

60 years.

The scripture that she shared daily with her family, “This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it,” summarizes her attitude throughout her life. God blessed her with a beautiful voice which she gladly shared at many weddings, funerals and worship services.

After raising her family in Southern California, she retired in Arkansas to care for her aging parents. She loved all types of music, especially choral. Her most cherished memories were those of annual family vacations, particularly the ones spent with the Cone family.

A memorial service will be

2 p.m. Monday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
