Opportunity of a lifetime

-

Dear editor:

Most people are mourning the loss of our patriot John McCain and are asking who now has the courage to openly, fairly speak on behalf of the true USA. A unique, once-in-a-lifetime calling awaits the right person.

This person must truly love the hardfought-for values of this country, the price was extremely high! They must believe that an inclusive country must listen to all views and then it is the job of our elected officials to collectively find solutions to our many problems.

Hopefully, this person can be a former military member who swore the solemn, lifetime oath to “protect and defend our nation, against all enemies, foreign and domestic” … and has not renounced that oath.

This person must love their family and want a world where their children, and future generations, will be safe from tyranny; knowing that this will be their life’s work, not seeking money, power, nor glory, but be able to wake each day to do what is right, regardless of the extreme powers of the tribes and their benefactors.

Sen. Tom Cotton, are you that person? Do you have the clarity and courage to cut the strings and to speak for all Americans in our United States of America? Jim Pumphrey Garland County

P.S. What a disgrace many of our appointed (and elected) judges are now politically aligned.
