Lakeside leads tri-match with LH, Texarkana

Lakeside compiled the most wins on Tuesday on its home courts in a tri-match against Lake Hamilton and Texarkana.

Blake Wooldridge and Haley Fauber each won their singles matches against Lake Hamilton, 8-0, as did the doubles team of M.C. Cowen and Isabella Calhoun. Ian Hollis and Caroline Johnson picked up wins of 8-1, as did the doubles team of Olivia Dolan and Marion Nutt.

Cole Plyler and Jace Robbins gave Lake Hamilton a doubles victory, 8-3. Colby Puckett and Hagan Russell also combined for an 8-2 doubles win.

Fauber and Johnson each picked up 8-0 wins in singles play against their Texarkana opponents. Wooldridge, Hollis and the doubles team of Calhoun and Nutt earned wins of 8-1, while Cowen and Dolan teamed up for an 8-2 doubles victory.

Ethan Eastwood and Andrew Montgomery teamed up in boys’ doubles for an 8-4 win against Texarkana.

Lake Hamilton split eight matches with Texarkana. Lucas Amerson and Jovana Cetnik each won, 8-0, in singles play. Puckett and Russell added another 8-0 score in doubles to remain undefeated in conference play.

Reagan Hickam and Christian Harris won a close

8-6 victory in girls’ doubles, but the Wolves suffered a pair of close losses in the boys’ competitio­n. Jacob Praetzel lost in singles, 8-6, while Plyler and Robbins suffered their first defeat of the season, 9-7.

Lakeside struggled on Monday in a tri-match against Class 6A Jonesboro and Pulaski Academy at Burns Park in North Little Rock. The Rams had one win in eight matches against Jonesboro.

Calhoun and Nutt earned a doubles victory, 7-5, 6-1. Ian Hollis suffered the closest loss of the match, falling, 7-5,

6-, in singles play.

emy, while Hollis suffered another close defeat. Johnson won, 8-3, in girls’ singles, while Fauber prevailed, 8-6.

Hollis tied, 8-8, with his opponent in singles play before falling, 7-2, in the tiebreaker. Calhoun and Nutt lost, 8-6, in their doubles match.

The Rams are scheduled for a road match today at El Dorado. The Wolves are next scheduled for another trimatch at Lakeside on Tuesday with Greenwood.
