School board meetings scheduled this week

The following school districts have school board meetings scheduled this week:

• The Magnet Cove School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the central office boardroom.

• The Lake Hamilton School Board will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday in the administra­tive boardroom, 205 Wolf St., in Pearcy.

• Hot Springs School Board’s monthly meeting will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom of the Jones Administra­tive Building, 400 Linwood Ave.

Tillery named to National Honor Society of HSS

ATLANTA — The National Society of High School Scholars recently named Fountain Lake High School senior Carson Tillery as a member.

The society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrat­ed outstandin­g leadership, scholarshi­p and community commitment, a news release said.

The announceme­nt was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, senior member of the family that establishe­d the Nobel Prizes.

“On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice and commitment that Carson has demonstrat­ed to achieve this exceptiona­l level of academic excellence,” Nobel said in the release. “Carson is now a member of a unique community of scholars — a community that represents our very best hope for the future.”

James Lewis, NSHSS president, said the organizati­on is proud to provide lifetime membership­s to support young scholars’ growth and developmen­t.

“We aim to help students like Carson build on their academic success by connecting them with unique learning experience­s and resources to help prepare them for college and meaningful careers,” Lewis said in the release.
