Senior centers

CHI St. Vincent McAuley Center, 5010 Arkansas Highway 7 north, and Hot Springs Senior Center, which is temporaril­y located at 301 Broadway, in The Warehouse, are operated by CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs and primarily funded through the Area Agency on Aging of West Central Arkansas. The Hot Springs center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The McAuley center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, serving area seniors aged 60 and older. No membership dues or fees are required for services, it does raise funds, and any and all donations are appreciate­d. Visitors and guests younger than 60 years old are welcome.

A nutritious, well-balanced lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No reservatio­n is required. A suggested donation of $3.50 is requested to help cover the member’s share of the meal cost at each center. Visitors younger than 60 are required to pay $6 for each meal. All carryout meals, regardless of age, are $6.

The Oaklawn Center on Aging, a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging, Arkansas Aging Initiative, is in partnershi­p with both centers.
