Shirley M.S. Hobbs

Shirley Marie Stine Hobbs, 81, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Sept. 15, 2018.

She was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Oran, Mo., to Curtis Lee and Cora Ann (Gordon) Halford.

Shirley demonstrated a big heart by always putting others first. She was an accomplished artist and woodcarver, liked to fish, cook, paint and spend time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 19 years, Max W. Stine; husband of 20 years, William Charles Hobbs; and sister, Rotha Gibson.

Survivors include children, Carol M. Mitchell (Miles), of Nashville, Ark., Terri L. Drennan (Steve), of Lewisville, Texas, James L. Stine (Karen), of Magnet Cove; grandchildren, Damon B. Sheridan (Jessie), Kimi L. Sheridan, Kelli Morton (John), Anne M. Reel (Chuck), Haleigh M. Helmick (Josh), Jaren W.K. Stine; stepgrandchildren, Sean Drennan, Corey Drennan; and great-grandchildren, Kadon M. Morton and Colton Morton.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with Brother Chuck Reel officiating.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander.

Honorary pallbearers include Kenneth Davis and Colton Morton.
