Balboa Baptist to host performance by comedian Davis
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Christian comedian Scott Davis will perform his “Hope for Hilarity” show at the Balboa Baptist Church Outreach Center, 415 Ponce de Leon Drive, at 2 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 5.
Doors open at 1:30 and 5:30 p.m., respectively. Davis is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., where he attended on a full scholarship for traveling with the Light Singers. Since his graduation in 1984, he has traveled the U.S. and abroad to 25 countries.
He has appeared in Mark Lowry’s videos and has written comedy for Lowry while under contract with Word Records. For a year, Davis appeared weekly on numerous religious and nonreligious weekly appearances and has been a guest on both religious and nonreligious radio and television shows.
In addition to his live performances, Davis is a best-selling author with his debut book release of “If My Body is A Temple, Then I was a Mega Church,” which went to No. 6 on one of Amazon’s lists in the first week of release.
Among others, Davis is recommended by Dr. Charles Stanley, Michael Tait of Newsboys, Mark Hall of Casting Crowns and Lowry, a news release said.
Davis and his wife, Donna, have one daughter and four grandchildren and reside in Stockbridge, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta.
