Lady Eagles split matches at Bauxite, Rose Bud

Cutter Morning Star took it down to the wire against the Class 4A Bauxite Lady Miners, ultimately falling, 3-2, on Monday before sweeping Class 3A Maumelle Charter on Tuesday.

The Lady Eagles (6-5, 3-1 2A-Central) won their first set, 25-21, against the Lady Miners (3-6, 1-4 4A-7) before Bauxite took back-to-back wins and a 2-1 edge. Bauxite took a 25-18 win in the second set before a

25-19 win in the third.

Cutter Morning Star came back for a

25-13 win in the fourth set to force a fifth set, which Bauxite managed to take, 17-15, for the match.

Haley Scott served for 27 points in the match with nine digs, two assists, two blocks and a kill, while Kara Kinkaid had three aces among her 13 service points with four digs and three kills.

Trinity Raper led the team at the net with 11 blocks, including six solo blocks while serving for six points with four kills. Kendyll Knott-Debord had five solo blocks and a dig with two kills, and Brecken KnottDebor­d had three blocks with an assist and six service points with one ace.

The Lady Eagles wasted no time in taking control against Rose Bud (5-8, 3-4 3A-Central) on Tuesday, winning the first two sets, 25-10, 25-10.

The Lady Ramblers struck back in the third set, but the Lady Eagles held on to secure the 25-18 win for the match.

McKenna Knott-Debord and Kinkaid led the Lady Eagles in service with 13 points each, Kinkaid serving for two aces to McKenna Knott-Debord’s one. Kinkaid also had five kills.

Scott had four assists with a dig and block while Brecken Knott-Debord had four assists with a dig and two kills. Kendyll Knott-Debord had four blocks with two kills and six service points with Raper serving for five points with an ace and three blocks.

The Lady Eagles travel to Perryville today for a tournament before hosting Quitman Monday.
