Hector Manuel Torres Garcia, 51, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Sunday, Sept. 30,

2018.

Visitation will be 5-6 p.m. with rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at Gross Funeral Home.

10 a.m. Friday at St. John the

Jim Herring

CONWAY — Jim Herring, of Conway, passed away at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette; and son, Randy. He was a lifelong educator that earned many awards, including Arkansas Educator of the Year. After his retirement, he devoted his life to teaching Bible studies and helping people with severe health problems.

The family wishes to thank the following: Dr. Gary Bowman, Dr. Sue Tsuda, Dr. Meek, Dr. Altan, and Jackie, Lynn, Regina, Jessica and Sara of Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Central Baptist College. Jim was a graduate of CBC and the first inductee in their Sports Hall of Fame.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at Antioch Baptist Church, Conway.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 3, 2018, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home. Burial in Old Liberty Cemetery.

Opal O. Hobbs

DIERKS — Opal Osborn Hobbs, 95, resident of Dierks, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, in Dierks.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Oct. 3, 2018, at First Baptist Church Dierks. Burial will follow in Dierks Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Don Anthony Joyce Sr., 73, passed away on Sept. 29, 2018, in Little Rock following a brief but valiant battle with cancer.

Richard D. Madson

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Richard D. Madson, 90, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018.

He was born July 6, 1928, in Alsen, N.D., to the late Harvey and Agnes Severson Madson.

Richard was a very loving husband and friend to many. He especially cherished his faith family. In addition to serving as former chairman of the memorial garden, he was an usher and member of the golf group of Faith Lutheran Church. Before retiring to Hot Springs Village, Richard was a computer programmer for ICC Central Railroad and honorably served our country in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Madson Jr.

Cherishing his memory are his wife of 50 years, Margaret Krikau Madson; one sister, Mary Ann Kreiger, of Hot Springs Village; brother, Roger Madson, of Tellico Village, Tenn.; and four nephews, Brad Kreiger, Eric Madson, Mark Madson and Roger Madson; and a niece, Melissa Kreiger Bricker.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, in the Memorial Garden of Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Benke officiatin­g.

James D. Moody Sr.

CORDOVA, Tenn. — James “Jim” David Moody Sr., of Cordova, Tenn., died at 8:04 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2018, at the age of 84.

Jim will have a military funeral at 11 a.m. Friday in Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery, North Little Rock, with Jay Justus officiatin­g.

Leanna Stuart

Leanna Stuart, age 47, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away on Sept. 24, 2018.

She was born on May 18, 1971, in Wichita, Kan.

She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Michael Edgin Sr.; and brother, Jeb Stuart.

Survivors include her mother, Donna Edgin; son, Tyler Brown (Amber); daughter, Vanessa Stuart; sister, Tonya Pike (Chip); stepsister, Cindy Johnson; stepbrothe­rs, Andy Edgin and Michael Edgin Jr.; sister-inlaw, Deanna Stuart; nieces and nephews, Victoria and Courtney Pike, Josalyn Korsmo, Amanda and Devlin Thweatt, Tiffany McCoy, Jaclyn Johnson, Justin Yamauchi, Devin, Adrian and Andrea Edgin.

Leanna was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village, Ark.

Patricia A. Terlecki

Patricia Ann Terlecki, 67, passed into the arms of her Savior early on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018.

Born Sept. 4, 1951, in Hot Springs, to Lee Edward Warren and Othel Lee (Lane) Warren, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edward Eugene Warren and Robert (Bobby) Lee Warren.

Pat is survived by her husband of 35 years, Roman C. Terlecki; son, Lee W. (Brittni) Terlecki; daughter, Sara A. Terlecki, of Unionville, Conn.; brother, J. Darrell (LaNelle) Warren; sister, Deborah K. (James) Mullins, of Morrilton, Ark.; five nephews, two nieces, and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Pat was a strong woman who loved the Lord and blessed others through her love, acceptance, words of encouragem­ent and prayer. She cherished her simple life on the farm where she was known to Lee and Sara as their Country Momma and to Roman as his Heart Protector.

She continues her legacy of Christian love by donating her body to the Genesis Program at the Medical Education & Research Institute (MERI), for the training of cadaver dogs.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Terlecki residence. Visitors are welcome to bring a “Note of Remembranc­e” for her family to treasure.
