Tim Zimmerebne­r tourney to benefit Hope Landing

Hope Landing will host the seventh annual Tim Zimmerebne­r Pro-Am charity golf tournament Oct. 19 at the Hot Springs Country Club to benefit the non-profit organizati­on.

The cost is $140 per person. This year’s event is the third to be held at the Hot Springs Country Club.

Hope Landing is located on an 80-acre ranch on Highway 82 five miles east of El Dorado. The facility provides physical therapy, occupation­al therapy, speech-language therapy, equine therapy and activities, and aquatic therapy to children with cognitive and physical disabiliti­es.

Hope Landing works with more than 450 children from eight counties in southern Arkansas, regardless of their families’ ability to pay expenses.

Tee-off will be at noon on Oct. 19. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m.

Curley Wolves score 50 first-half points at Bismarck

BISMARCK — Prescott flexed its muscles on Friday with 50 points in the first half of a 65-20 3A-5 conference win at Bismarck.

The Curley Wolves (5-0, 2-0) finished with 566 total yards of offense while holding the Lions to just 114 total yards. Prescott is ranked No. 3 in Class 3A in the most recent Arkansas Sports Media High School Football Poll.

Six ball carriers combined for 255 yards and six touchdowns for Prescott. Senior quarterbac­k Ryan Johnson was 14-for-22 passing for 311 yards, three touchdowns and one intercepti­on.

Junior quarterbac­k James Kegley was 5-for-16 for 84 yards, a touchdown and an intercepti­on for Bismarck (1-4, 0-2). Kegley had 11 yards on six carries

and senior Dylan Clayton ran for 20 yards on seven carries as the Lions were held to 30 yards on 19 rushing attempts in the game.

Junior Collier Robertson finished with three receptions for

76 yards and a touchdown. Clayton led the defense with nine total tackles and eight solo. Senior Jordan Webb finished with six tackles, including five solo.

Webb added a touchdown on a 98-yard kickoff return.

The Lions scored all 20 of their points in the second half after the Curley Wolves took a

50-0 lead into the break. Bismarck is scheduled for a road game Friday at Fouke

(1-4, 0-2).

Mount Ida remains perfect at Murfreesbo­ro

MURFREESBO­RO — Mount Ida, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A in the most recent Arkansas Sports Media High School Football Poll scored 37 points in the first quarter Friday en route to a 58-7 2A-7 conference victory against the Murfreesbo­ro Rattlers.

The to-ranked Lions (5-0, 2-0) rolled up 490 yards of total offense, including 460 on 45 rushing attempts for an average of 10.2 yards per carry. Senior Cade Jackson also attempted one pass, a 30-yard touchdown to senior Gage Dyer.

Dyer averaged 42 yards per carry with 168 yards and a touchdown on just four carries. Jackson scored twice and ran for 80 yards on nine carries.

Sophomore John Hoeksema also scored twice with 72 yards on six carries. Senior Jonathan LaGrange ran 10 times for 56 yards and a score, while junior Hunter Davis added one touchdown and

52 yards on eight rushing attempts. Mount Ida will be at home on Friday against Spring Hill (1-3, 0-2) before a road date at No. 2 Foreman

(5-0, 2-0) on Oct. 12. The Gators defeated the Lions, 24-21, in the

2017 2A state championsh­ip game after Mount Ida won at home, 36-7, in their regular season matchup.
