Fundraiser set for former manager of The Big Chill

The Unknown Legends Musicians Relief Fund and The Big Chill will sponsor a fundraisin­g concert for former Big Chill manager and live music advocate David Aldridge beginning at noon Oct. 14 in the field just south of The Big Chill, 910 Higdon Ferry Road.

Gates open at noon, live music begins at 12:30 p.m. and the event will continue until 6:30 p.m. The event is open to all ages; pets are prohibited.

Aldridge managed The Big Chill for over 15 years and has been an active supporter of live music and musicians in Hot Springs for many years. He is currently recovering from kidney cancer and his friends are coming together to help with medical and living expenses during his treatment after surgery.

The live music schedule is as follows:

• 12:30-1 p.m. — Dayton Waters.

• 1:15-2:45 p.m. — The Hired Hands with Heather Cross, Joe Hall and Ashley Blanton Bell.

• 3-3:45 p.m. — Mister Lucky.

• 4-4:30 p.m. — Trey Johnson and Dave Almond.

• 4:30-5 p.m. — Rocky Don Jones.

• 5:15-6:30 p.m. — Mike Mayberry and The Slow-hands.

Admission for all of the festivitie­s is $10. Barbecue pork or chicken with all the trimmings will be available for $10 per plate courtesy of John Dean and The Crosswalk Bar and Grill.

Adult beverages will be available along with soft drinks, water and iced tea. No outside food, beverages or ice chests will be admitted. Attendees may bring chairs and blankets and enjoy the fellowship and music.

A silent auction will also be held during the event, set to begin when the gates open and end at

5:30 p.m.

Individual­s may donate items for the silent auction by dropping them off at The Big Chill, or by contacting Dannielle Davis at

dannielled­avis123@gmail.com. For those who cannot attend the benefit but would still like to donate to Aldridge, a GoFundMe account has been set up, or donations may be dropped off at The Big Chill.
