TIGERS FLYING HIGH, BUT VISIT TO FLORIDA FRAUGHT WITH DANGER

-

KEYS FOR LSU

Possess the ball: The Tigers rank third in the SEC in time of possession, holding the ball for 32 minutes on average. Florida is 12th in the league in the same category. LSU needs to create long drives to grind down the Gators.

Stop the run: Florida’s passing game has been erratic at bests, and the Gators rank 11th in the conference in team rushing at less than 175 yards per game. LSU needs to stop the UF running game cold and make the Gators one-dimensional.

KEYS FOR FLORIDA

Win the turnover battle: Florida has thrived on creating turnovers, leading the league in turnover margin at

plus-9. LSU is right behind at plus-7. Whoever wins the turnover battle might very well win the game.

Sack Joe Burrow: LSU’s quarterback hasn’t thrown an interception and he hasn’t faced a lot of defensive pressure. Florida has produced

15 sacks this season, while LSU has allowed just eight. The gators need to dial up the pressure and force Burrow to make quick decisions.

PREDICTION

LSU 24, Florida 17: Dan Mullen seems to have Florida going in the right direction, and the Kentucky loss doesn’t look so bad in hindsight. LSU, however, is on a roll and looks like a team that can still contend in the tough SEC West. The Tigers are just too much for UF.
