BEST OF THE REST

This weekend’s other top conference games (all times EDT)

-

NO. 13 KENTUCKY (5-0, 3-0) AT TEXAS A&M (3-2, 1-1) When: 7 p.m. Saturday Where: College Station

TV: ESPN

Kentucky is off to a hot start and has shown that it’s, for now, the second-best team in the East behind Georgia. A pair of confidence-boosting victories over Mississippi State and South Carolina, and a win in the Swamp over Florida early in the season have the Wildcats flying high. Can they escape the 12th Man?

NO. 8 AUBURN (4-1, 1-1) AT MISSISSIPPI STATE (3-2, 0-2)

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday Where: Starkville, Miss.

TV: ESPN2

Since piling up the points in its first three games of the season, Mississippi State’s offense has nearly disappeared. After averaging 50 points per game in three early wins, the Bulldogs put up just 13 total points in losses to Kentucky and Florida. Things aren’t looking better with Auburn, which allows just 12.6 points per game, coming to town.

VANDERBILT (3-2, 0-1) AT NO. 2 GEORGIA (5-0, 3-0)

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday Where: Athens, Ga.

TV: SEC Network

Georgia remains at No. 2 in the polls this week, but many believe that the Bulldogs aren’t playing to their peak just yet. A homecoming matchup with Vanderbilt might be the last “breather” Georgia will have for awhile. The Bulldogs’ next four come against No. 5 LSU, No.

22 Florida, No. 13 Kentucky and No.

8 Auburn.
