Lakeview Assembly of God celebrates 50th

Ave., will celebrate its 50th anniversar­y on Sunday with new Pastors

Photograph­s featuring 50 years of memories will be on display, and the “Signs of Praise” team will be ministerin­g. Former Pastors Don and Carol Hutchings from Fort Smith will bring the morning’s message at 10:30 a.m.

Pastoral appreciati­on celebratio­n and welcome

Historic Visitor’s Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 319 Church St., will present the first pastoral appreciati­on celebratio­n and welcome for the Rev. Charlene N. Boone on Sunday.

The appreciati­on and welcome service, “Leadership Worth Following,” by the Rev. Gregory

E. Guinn, associate minister, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. At 11 a.m. the speaker will be Exhorter Clara Puckett.

Boone is a native of Harford County, Md., and a graduate of Hampton University, Hampton, Va.

She was licensed to preach in February 1983 at St. James AME Church, Havre de Grace, Md., and ordained an itinerant deacon in 1986. The same year, she began her pastoral career, pastoring in AME Churches in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Prior to being appointed to Visitor’s Chapel AME, she was pastor of Greater Ward Chapel AME Church in Pine Bluff. Boone has two children.

Bismarck Pentecosta­l Church hosts Crabb Sunday

BISMARCK — Bismarck Pentecosta­l Church is having special Sunday services this weekend featuring Gerald Crabb from

Ripley, Miss. The morning service begins at 10 a.m. and the evening service begins at 6 p.m.

Crabb has won multiple songwriter of the year awards, including five Dove Awards and the prestigiou­s BMI Christian songwriter and BMI publisher of the year awards. For nine consecutiv­e years, he was selected by the GMA to perform at the Songwriter­s’ Showcase with other writers such as Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Nicole C. Mullen, Bart Mallard, Kirk Franklin, Mac Powell, Mark Hall, and many others.

The singer, songwriter, and preacher has had the opportunit­y to appear on the Gaither Videos, TBN, “The 700 Club,” the INSP, and CMT. He has also performed at Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry, The Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Colorado, and The Brooklyn Tabernacle.

Clark to be guest speaker at St. Phillips

St. Phillips Church of God In Christ will hold its Evangelist­ic Worship Service at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at 237 Walnut St.

Apostle Jessie Clark, Williams Temple COGIC, Little Rock, will be the guest speaker.
