Director of Arkansas Chapter of Sierra Club to speak Wed.
Glen Hooks, director of the Arkansas Chapter of the Sierra Club, will be the featured speaker at Wednesday’s meeting of the Democratic Party of Garland County at its headquarters, 608 W. Grand Ave.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. and the meeting will start promptly at 5:30 p.m. The free event is open to the public.
Hooks’ work is centered around improving the use of clean energy and protecting the air, water, forests and many other special places which all Arkansans need and enjoy, a news release said.
Over his career, Hooks has been an attorney in private and public practice, a director of the Democratic Party of Arkansas, a political campaign manager for many candidates and has represented groups such as the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. He attended the University of Arkansas at
Little Rock, Hendrix College and
William H. Bowen School of Law.
Hooks, a native Arkansan, lives in
Little Rock.
