Ramona Smedley Davis, 85, of Royal, Arkansas, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018.

She was born Jan. 24, 1933, in Hartford, Arkansas, to the late Trell and Joe G. Smedley Sr. Ramona was a 1950 graduate of Hot Springs High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education and later a Master of Science in Education from Henderson State University. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Chi, Arkansas Epsilon Chapter. She and her husband, Kenneth, were both proud “Cobras” each retiring from teaching at Fountain Lake School.

Ramona was a devoted Christian, who loved the Lord. She was a member and a faithful server of Piney Grove United Methodist Church.

Her parents, husband Kenneth O. Davis, and a brother, Joe G. Smedley Jr., precede her in death.

Survivors include her children Kerry (Kim) Davis, Dan Davis and Susan (Drew) Brown; granddaugh­ters Amanda (Michael) Evans, Haley Evans, Allison (Heber) Rosas and Alex Davis; grandsons Spencer Davis and Maxwell Davis; great-grandchild­ren Addylyn Ward, Georgia Davis, Reid and Holt Rosas; sister Mina (Arky) Stephens; and brother Bud (June) Smedley.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her many caregivers and the Montgomery County Nursing Home in Mount Ida.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Piney Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Gallimore officiatin­g.

At Ramona’s request, her body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science.
