GC Historical Society closed to researcher­s for open house

The Garland County Historical Society at 328 Quapaw Ave. will be closed to researcher­s on Thursday for an open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Church Women United World Community Day

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Church Women United World Community Day, an annual event that unites women and men of all faiths in a common worship experience, will be Friday at Village United Methodist Church, 200 Carmona Road, Hot Springs Village.

Registrati­on and refreshmen­ts will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m. The theme of this year’s celebratio­n is “Reaching for Wholeness, In Harmony With God’s People.”

Attendees can bring a nonperisha­ble food item to be donated to a local food bank.

Elks Lodge No. 380 to hold Halloween Party Wednesday

Hot Springs Elks Lodge No. 380, 132 Abbott Place, will hold a Halloween Party on Wednesday. The cost is $10 per person. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., with dancing to follow.

Ouachita Mountain Hikers to hike Ouachita Trail Thursday

The Ouachita Mountain Hikers will hike 10.6 miles on the Ouachita Trail on Thursday. The club will also hike 5 miles in Cane Creek State Park on Saturday.
