Preceptor Epsilon Chapter to meet Monday

The Preceptor Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will meet at Blitzed Pig, 4330 Central Ave., Temperance Hill Square, at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Melissa Burris will host and Sonja Chupik will present the program. There will not be a carpool to the meeting.

Hot Springs Spin Doctors meets at Coffee Love

The Hot Springs Spin Doctors, a group of vinyl music lovers who get together to share new, eclectic, and hard-to-find music in a group setting, will meet at Coffee Love, 4832 Central Ave., at 6 p.m. Monday.

The group meets the first Monday of each month. Bring LPs to show, trade, sell, and just hang out and listen to the warm sound of vinyl and enjoy some great coffee and pastries.

HSV Amateur Radio Club to hold testing session

The Hot Springs Village Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring a volunteer examiner testing session on Saturday, Nov. 10, in Room D of the Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave.

The library opens at 9 a.m., and testing will start at around 9:15 a.m.

Anyone interested in upgrading their amateur license or obtaining a new license is welcome. Register by calling Bill Stewart, WA9AQQ, at 501-915-0976. Upgrade candidates are required to bring a photo ID, their original signed amateur license and any applicable CSCEs. A processing fee of $15 will be collected. Unlicensed candidates need only bring a photo ID plus the fee.

Poetry Discussion Group to meet Nov. 12 at library

The Poetry Discussion Group will have its last meeting of 2018 on Monday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at the Garland County Library. The group is reading and discussing short poems of Walt Whitman. Anyone is welcome. The group always welcomes new participan­ts. John Crawford, professor emeritus of HSU, leads the discussion­s.

HSV Evening Lions Club to meet Thursday

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The HSV Evening Lions Club will meet Thursday in Room 6 of the Coronado Center.

Fellowship and a buffet begins at 5 p.m. followed by a business meeting at 6 p.m. Melissa Speers, superinten­dent of the Jessievill­e School District, will be the speaker. Bill Eddy, agricultur­e teacher, will be introduced and a new couple will be inducted into Lions.
