Eureka Missionary Baptist celebrates pastoral anniversary
Historic Eureka Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate Pastor Steve R. and J’auan Gaylyn Lake’s 32nd Pastoral Anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday. Guests will be the Rev. Rufus Hatley, pastor of Harrison Chapel in Delight and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Okolona.
The theme for this year’s anniversary is “Going Over the Next Hill with God,” Philippians 4:19. There will be a pre-anniversary at 6 p.m. today. Call Janice Davis at 501-655-6498 for more information.
Cottrell Chapel CME Church celebrates 113 years on Sunday
Cottrell Chapel CME Church, 698 E. Grand, will
celebrate 113 years at 3 p.m. Sunday, with Pastor James E. Story.
Guest church will be the Rev. Charles Smith and the congregation of St. Thomas Baptist Church.
Cottrell Chapel CME Church will be selling dinner at 11 a.m. today. The menu will feature barbecue chicken with potatoes, green beans, roll, and a dessert for $8, or roast beef with same vegetables and dessert for $9. Call 870403-2221 or 870-210-6324 to order. Dinners can be delivered.
Center for Spiritual Oneness hosts musical presentation
The Center for Spiritual Oneness, 300 Oaklawn, will hear a special message and music presentation by local noted musician Chana Caylor, “Sing Your Heart’s Song,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. A greet and meet will follow the service.
Caylor, a native of Hot Springs, is a lifelong musician, singer and performer as well as a yoga/meditation teacher and inspirational speaker and currently works with Arkansas Learning Through the Arts, teaching elementary school children across Arkansas the art of songwriting.
Caylor has also worked in the healing arts and spa industry for the past 20 years. During that time she delved deeply into opening her understanding and awareness to numerous modalities of higher understanding of the power of the connection to oneself and the world around.
“Through the healing power of heart-centered music combined with meditation and mind, body, soul awareness, Chana will take you on a journey into the awakening of ‘Your Soul’s Song,’” a news release said.
Visitors Chapel AME to celebrate anniversary
Historic Visitors Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 319 Church St., will be celebrating its 148th anniversary beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday with guest messenger, the Rev. Chestine Sims, pastor of Union AME Church of Little Rock.
The morning worship service will be at 11 a.m. with a message from the Rev. Dr. Randolph Martin, presiding elder of the Hot Springs/ Arkadelphia District.
