BEST OF THE REST

This weekend’s other top conference games (all times EST)

-

GEORGIA TECH (7-4) AT NO. 5 GEORGIA (10-1) When: Noon Saturday Where: Athens, Ga.

TV: SEC Network

Notes: When the Vegas lines opened for this week’s games, the Bulldogs were favored by a whopping 17 points over Georgia Tech. With that strange triple-option offense, the hot four-game streak the Yellow Jackets are on, and the fact that they’ve won the last two in Athens, doesn’t that number seem a little high?

SOUTH CAROLINA (6-4) AT NO. 2 CLEMSON (11-0)

When: 7 p.m. Saturday Where: Clemson, S.C.

TV: ESPN

Notes: Clemson has owned the Palmetto Bowl the past four years, winning by an average score of

40-15. Not surprisingly, the Tigers have been in the College Football Playoffs in three of the four seasons it’s been used to crown a college football champion. Knocking Clemson out of that is a huge motivating factor for the Gamecocks.

NO. 8 LSU (9-2) AT TEXAS A&M (7-4)

When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday Where: College Station, Texas TV: SEC Network

Notes: It’s sort of hard to fathom, but LSU hasn’t lost to the Aggies since the latter joined the SEC in

2012. The Tigers actually hold a seven-game streak over Texas A&M that began with a Cotton Bowl win in 2011. LSU remains the only SEC West team that Texas A&M has yet to beat as a member of the SEC.
