LEVELLAND, Texas — Hot Springs alum Keke Hunter recorded her eighth double-double of the year on Wednesday as South Plains College’s women’s basketball team opened conference play with a 67-62 win over Midland College at the Texan Dome.

Hunter scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Lady Texans (11-0) start off 1-0 in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference

“Having a nonstop mentality helped us tonight, and coach (Cayla) Petree always tells us to not stop and keep going.”

Trailing by nine late in the fourth quarter, Midland (8-4) used an 8-0 run capped by a 3-pointer from Annilia Dawn to trim their deficit to 63-62 with just 11 seconds remaining.
