City, housing authority seek input on Fair Housing Study

-

The city of Hot Springs and the Hot Springs Housing Authority are soliciting comments on a draft Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice study.

To facilitate local input, two public hearings will be held Thursday to present key findings and related fair housing goals, and to accept comments. The hearings will be held at 1 p.m. at City Hall, 133 Convention Blvd., and at 6 p.m. at Transportation Depot, 100 Broadway Terrace.

This study discusses fair and affordable housing needs, along with needs related to access to opportunity and community resources in Hot Springs. It also outlines strategies the city and housing authority plan to take to improve fair housing. The study is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for jurisdictions and public housing authorities that receive community development and affordable housing grant funds.

The study is available for review online at https://www.cityhs.net/674/ Fair-Housing and in the Hot Springs Planning & Development office, 133 Convention Blvd. Comments received by Jan. 14 will be considered and included in the final study.
