Woman arrested after allegedly shooting at boyfriend’s house
A Hot Springs woman was arrested Friday morning after allegedly firing a gun at her boyfriend’s residence and threatening to kill him.
Heather Michelle Alvis,
45, who lists a Lakeshore Drive address, was taken into custody shortly before
6 a.m. and charged with a felony count of first-degree terroristic threatening, punishable by up to six years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of discharging a firearm in the city limits.
She was being held on $2,750 bond and appeared Monday in Garland County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, shortly after 5:30 a.m. Friday, Hot Springs police Officer Justin Bradbury was dispatched to the 100 block of Knollwood Lodge Road in reference to shots fired in which a man claimed a known suspect, identified as Alvis, had shot a handgun toward his residence.
While he was en route to the area, dispatch stated the victim was being chased by Alvis. Officers arrived in the area of Lakeshore and Knollwood as both Alvis and the victim pulled up in separate vehicles. The victim again stated Alvis had fired a gun at his residence prompting him to get in his car and flee and she began chasing him in her vehicle down Lakeshore.
Sgt. John Tinney spoke to Alvis who allegedly admitted she fired a handgun at the victim’s residence without him being home. She stated the two were “in a relationship,” but he had been cheating on her. She was taken into custody and allegedly stated, “death by officer” and made multiple threats to kill the victim.
She was searched and officers found a .38 special revolver in her jacket pocket which had four non-fired rounds and one fired round. Alvis was taken to the detention center where she became “increasingly uncooperative” with officers. She also allegedly started “slinging snot or bodily fluids” toward officers and refused to answer any more questions.
