Lakeside splits tri-match with Lake Hamilton, Searcy

Lakeside hosted its first tri-match of the season Monday, defeating Lake Hamilton and falling to Searcy. Searcy also topped Lake Hamilton in the match.

The Rams outscored the Wolves, 7212, in the match. Lake Hamilton won by forfeit in the 152-pound category, and Lakeside took forfeit wins in the 106-, 113-,

120-, 126-, 138-, 145- and 220-pound classes.

In the 160-pound class, Lakeside’s Branden Puckett pinned Lake Hamilton’s Bradley. Connor Johnson pinned Lake Hamilton’s Horton in the 170-pound class, and Garrett Garner pinned Lake Hamilton’s Conrad in the 182-pound category.

In the 195-pound class, Jeremy Pakulak pinned Lake Hamilton’s Reynolds, and in the 285-pound class, Lake Hamilton’s O’Neal pinned Myles Jerrels. Chance Mayhan pinned Lake Hamilton’s Jackson in the final bout of the night in the 132-pound class.

Searcy took a 39-34 win over Lakeside

in the match. In the 113-pound bout, Searcy’s Matthew Gale defeated Lakeside’s Keaton Wasson by a 14-13 decision in the closest competitio­n of the night. The Rams forfeited the 152-pound bout to Searcy.

Searcy took the early lead in the 138-pound bout as Aiden Fitzpatric­k pinned Lakeside’s Christian Puckett for a 6-0 lead, but an

11-2 major decision for Lakeside’s Rueben Eye over Logan Money put the Rams within 6-4 after the

145-pound class.

Searcy won the next three bouts with Ryan Tillery winning by 6-5 decision over Colton Burchard in the 160-pound class and pins by Joseph Delk and Eduardo Mancilla over Branden Puckett in the 170-pound and Garner in the 182-pound bouts, respective­ly, to take a 27-4 lead.

Pakulak won by an injury default over Searcy’s Nick Light in the 195-pound class before John Michael Fuller pinned Searcy’s Brayden Zamparelli in the 220-pound and Jerrels pinned A.J. Brewer in the 285-pound classes to pull within 27-22.

Searcy’s Garrett Meeds pinned Wirner Harris in the

106-pound class to take a 33-22 lead. Landon Valdez defeated Enrique Ayon in an 8-3 decision to give Searcy a 39-22 lead before Bridges Tomlinson pinned Searcy’s Lucas O’Neal to pull within

39-28.

Mahan pinned Searcy’s C.J. Yocham in the 132-pound bout to set the final.
