Ariel R. Galster
Ariel Rebekah Galster passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, after a lifelong struggle with lupus.
She was born on March
22, 1982, in Seoul, Korea. At 9 months old, she joined her forever family in Pine Bluff, Ark., becoming the youngest sibling of the “The Galster Gang.”
Ariel loved her horse, Irish Shannon, and was a member of the Appaloosa Horse Association, competing in many horse shows in Arkansas and the surrounding states. She graduated from Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs. She received her CNA license, worked as an EMT, was a fashion model and served as a flight attendant for several years. She was also a vocal advocate for lupus education and research.
Ariel is survived by her son, Patrick Kahne Dougherty, of Beebe, Ark.; mother, Vali Talbot, of New Orleans; father, Mike Galster, of Scott, Ark.; three brothers, Gabe Galster, Jordan Galster, of Hot Springs, and Caleb Galster, of Texarkana, Ark.; sister, Christina Fox, of San Antonio, Texas; grandparents, Von Talbot, of Hot Springs, Beverly Drew, of Camarillo, Calif., and Robert Galster, of Jacksonville, Ark.; her faithful service dog, Dash.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Hot Springs. Visitation will be at noon and Mass at 1 p.m.
The family asks that memorials be sent to the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas, 220 Mockingbird, Hot Springs, AR 70913.
