Evanelle S. Stanley

Evanelle Skaggs Stanley, age 88, of Hot Springs, formerly of Caddo Valley, passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at West Shores Assisted Living Center in Hot Springs.

She was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Pitcher, Okla., the daughter of the late John William and Sylvia Mae Hocking Skaggs. Evanelle did clerical work during most of her life. She was a member of Friendship Methodist Church. Evanelle enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, reading and playing cards in her free time. She and her late husband, Ray, were stationed several places around the world during Ray’s military career before settling in Caddo Valley.

Evanelle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Ray Stanley, and one son, William Denton Stanley.

Survivors are one son, Larry Stanley (Vicki), of Hot Springs; two granddaughters, Alissa Scott (Brad) and Stormi Moritz, both of Hot Springs; three great-grandchildren, Kathleen and Haley Scott and Ava Moritz; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Stanley, of Hermitage, and Carolyn Stanley, of Arkadelphia.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Pounders officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Caddo Valley Cemetery.
